CodeBlue integrates software to keep data flowing
As business applications continued to be adopted, CodeBlue discovered a data-disconnect between their systems, one that threatened to arrest the flow of information…
CodeBlue, a company delivering information technology support solutions for businesses, had been investing in systems that enabled them to grow quickly while minimising the need to employ additional administrative staff. However, an increased number of business applications resulted in the need to synchronise data between four disparate applications.
CodeBlue invested in the MYOB Exo financial application package in 2006. MYOB New Zealand introduced Flow to CodeBlue when they identified the need to take quotes and sales orders from their technology procurement application, IT Quoter, and bring them across into MYOB Exo where they would be expedited.
Initially Flow facilitated the transfer of quotes and sales orders from IT Quoter into MYOB Exo as sales and purchase orders. Subsequently Flow was updated to ensure the consistency of customer information between the four applications.
Over the following 18 month period the use of Flow has been extended to integrate both Microsoft CRM, which is now the central application in support of their customers and their JobTrack service management application.
“Because we already knew Flow when we decided to buy CRM there was no question for us whether to go with Flow – once Flow is set up properly it continues to work without staff intervention”, says Ken Davis, executive director.
Ken’s advice to others: “Focus on the initial scoping and specification, and test thoroughly”.
